Banana Carob Biscuits

This recipe gets two paws up as my beagle goes crazy whenever she gets a "good-dog" treat.  It uses carob, a healthy, safe alternative to chocolate for dogs. Check out the pics and recipe below!

(Left: finished biscuits, one with and one without carob spread)
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Banana, mashed
1/3 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 Cup Wheat Germ
1 egg
1 egg white, beaten, for brushing

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees and lightly spray baking sheet with cooking spray or put down piece of parchment paper.
Stir egg, peanut butter, banana and honey in large bowl. Stir in wheat germ and mix until smooth and combined.
Place dough mixture onto floured surface and use rolling pin to roll out to about 1/4 inch thick.
Use bone-shaped or other shaped cookie cutter to cut out biscuits.  Use pastry brush and paint tops with the beaten egg white.
Bake biscuits until dried and crunchy, about 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool completely before icing with carob spread (recipe below).

Carob Spread Ingredients:
2 cups banana, mashed
1 Tbs butter
6 Tbs powdered Carob
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 Tbs flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Place all ingredients in medium sized bowl and beat with electric or standing mixer until smooth.  Spread on cooled biscuits.  Extra carob mixture may be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
